Who we are
VisitCard is a tool that clinics in Pakistan use to give patients a digital visit card: medicines, timings, tests, advice and the next visit date. The clinic (your doctor) decides what is written on your card. VisitCard stores it for them.
What is stored
- Patients: name, mobile number, visit date, diagnosis, medicines, tests, advice, allergies, next visit date, and anything the doctor adds (for example a voice note). Test reports and photos you upload. Your answers on the card (for example “I feel better”), when you opened the card, and queue tokens you take.
- Doctors and assistants: name, clinic name, mobile number, clinic address and timings, logo, and a scrambled (hashed) password. We never see or store passwords in readable form.
- Phone notifications: if you turn on notifications, your browser gives us an address to send them to. Nothing else about your phone is stored.
Who can see it
- Your card is only visible through its secret link. Anyone who has the link can open it, so only share it with people you trust.
- Your doctor and their assistants can see the patients of their own clinic only. One clinic can never see another clinic’s patients.
- If you choose a lab or pharmacy on your card, that lab or pharmacy sees the tests or medicines you sent them.
- We do not sell your data and we do not show advertisements.
Where it is kept
The data is kept on Cloudflare’s servers (a large internet company). Connections are encrypted (https). Backups are made so records are not lost.
How long
Records are kept while the clinic uses VisitCard, because they are part of your medical history with that clinic. Phone notification addresses are deleted when the token or medicine course ends.
Your choices
- You can ask your doctor to correct a card or cancel it.
- You can ask for your records to be deleted: contact WhatsApp +61 455 453 722. Some records may have to be kept by the clinic as required by law.
- You can turn notifications off at any time in your phone settings.
Important
VisitCard shows what your doctor wrote. It does not give medical advice. In an emergency, do not wait for the clinic: go to the nearest hospital.
